Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, baritone Quinn Kelsey received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He was the winner of the 2015 Beverly Sills Prize from the Metropolitan Opera. He performs worldwide, frequently in Verdi repertory, and has appeared most recently in the roles of Monforte in I vespri siciliani (Zurich Opera), Filippo Visconti in Beatrice di Tenda (Paris Opera) and Renato in Un ballo in maschera (Metropolitan Opera). Engagements for 2024/25 include returns to the Metropolitan Opera as the title role in Rigoletto, Scarpia in Tosca, and Amonasro in Michael Mayer’s new production of Aida, with both Tosca and Aida part of The Met: Live in HD series. He also sings Rigoletto at Zurich Opera and LA Opera and returns to Japan for Germont in La traviata with the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy. Future engagements include returns to the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Paris Opera, Canadian Opera Company, and a debut with the Royal Danish Opera.
