Elisabet Strid

Soprano

Biography

Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid’s notable roles include Isolde (Tristan und Isolde), Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Brünnhilde (Siegfried), Senta, Giorgetta (Il tabarro), Chrysothemis (Elektra) and the title roles of Rusalka and Salome. Recent engagements have included appearances at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, the Royal Operas of Stockholm and Copenhagen, Michigan Opera (US debut) and Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as the Bayreuth Festival, Baltic Sea Festival, Ravello Festival, Hong Kong Festival and opera houses in Madrid, Oslo, Helsinki, Bologna, Geneva and Mexico. Concert appearances include performances with Orchestra National di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Swedish Radio Orchestra. Her first CD, Leuchtende Liebe,(Beethoven and Wagner arias and scenes) was released by Oehms Classics. She made her Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 Season as Senta (The Flying Dutchman). Engagements for 2024/25 include Senta in Tokyo and Valencia and Elizabeth (Tannhäuser) at Wagner Days Budapest.
