Lynne Page's first work for The Royal Ballet is a unique dance film celebrating live performance and female power.

Background

Lyssa, an exciting new film collaboration, is choreographer Lynne Page's first work for The Royal Ballet. Featuring 17 female Royal Ballet dancers and vocals by British singer and songwriter Nadine Shah, accompanied by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the film reveals the inner workings of the theatre and the artists and staff who bring live performance to the stage.

In Greek mythology, Lyssa is the goddess of anger and rage. The film weaves theatre craft, powerful vocals and emotive dance into a unique digital experience that celebrates the collective energy of forces for positive change in our modern world.

Lyssa was produced and recorded by the Royal Opera House broadcast team and directed for the screen by Anthoula Syndica-Drummond.
