Background

Alexandra Lowe, Stephanie Wake-Edwards and Filipe Manu perform an intimate and uplifting programme, including well-known opera pieces by Mozart and Verdi as well as songs by Weill and Bernstein, curated and presented by Royal Opera Music Director Antonio Pappano. In the gilded splendour of the Crush Room, this pared back, intimate concert will showcase the exciting talent of three of our Jette Parker Young Artists.

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: 'Fra gli amplessi' (Così fan tutte), performed by Alexandra Lowe and Filipe Manu
  • Georges Bizet: 'Chanson d’avril', performed by Alexandra Lowe
  • Ernest Chausson: 'Le colibri', performed by Alexandra Lowe
  • Reynaldo Hahn: 'Si mes vers avaient des ailes', performed by Alexandra Lowe
  • Paolo Tosti: 'Aprile', 'A vucchella' and 'Ideale', performed by Filipe Manu
  • Jacques Offenbach: Barcarolle (Les contes d’Hoffmann), performed by Alexandra Lowe and Stephanie Wake-Edwards
  • Giuseppe Verdi: Fenton aria (Falstaff), performed by Filipe Manu
  • Cabaret songs: Kurt Weill: ‘Speak Low’, Madeleine Dring: ‘Nightclub Proprietress’, William Bolcom: 'Can’t sleep', 'Last lousy moments of love' and 'Blue', performed by Stephanie Wake-Edwards. 
  • Leonard Bernstein: 'Tonight' (West Side Story) performed by Alexandra Lowe and Filipe Manu
